  1. what is your opinion of playing (for experience) in play money games? I was playing in one of these games and I had pocket aces. Everybody was playing all in … all hands… I thought I might as well try it with pocket aces. I had a call and the guy had 2-4 not suited and ended up getting the straight A-5 with me fuming with three aces. What do you think?

  2. Hey Daniel. Amazing videos I love them all. Is there anyway you could talk about any tips to survive the grind on trying to become pro. Like any advise about how you became the alpha poker player you are and how to make it big. You are an role model and someone most strive to be like including myself. Thank you brother

  3. There was a time when Daniel was among the best in the world. That was 8-10 years ago. The whole game of poker has evolved and there are tons of very very tough players out there. Just like in every other sport Dan's hey days are long gone. I don't mean this in the slightest disrespect but just pointing out the inevitable fact that every top player of a game faces as the sport advances. I hate to say it but I see better players than Dan at 50NL. Poker isnt the same as it used to be and will only get even more tough

  4. I don't really see the point in donk betting the flop. If BB has a donking range of mid pair plus hands then what hands is he checking there. BB's checking range on the flop is extremely weak if he has a donking range and that fact is made worse as BB's pre flop calling range is fairly wide to a less than 3x open from UTG. His checking range is very prone to exploitation and UTG could raise any two hands.

Also donking usually implies a depolarized range. You can't bet large with a don't range. It's a blunder to bet large

  5. I'm playing poker so that I can learn to "tell the story" as you say, because it relates to my job. What's the fastest way of getting really good at that?

  6. Mr. Daniel, how do I stop being such a sucker? I mean, I know when someone is holding crap cards if they give away their hand easily with smaller bet sizes or checking after raising mildly (roughly less than 25 percent of the pot size) pre-flop, but for some reason I still start doubting myself.

  7. Didn't You say that if someone raises UTG he/she probably has AA KK QQ or AK? How come You don't mention the possibility of AK here for UTG player? I am new to poker sorry.

  8. I love the way you think. My game is pretty much exactly like yours, without the talking haha. Have as many opportunities as possible at as small a price as possible, "bluff" a lot, but conservatively so (smallish pots i know i can pick up, or i don't get too much into trouble if i get a call or raise). Don't be scared to "show weakness" by folding good hands, don't be scared to "show fish potential" by calling mediocre hands, and just abuse that perception whenever useful. Being creative with cards, but not crazy. It's super effective and i crush basically everyone who isn't a pro and actively puts huge pressure on me.

  9. Thanks Daniel for your tips. Hopefully someday I get to meet you in person. For me you are the best poker player!

  10. I dont know if i agree with not ever leading against an utg open on some boards. Since their range is decently capped, I think leading on some low card flops that hit your range well is a good strategy.

  11. Great message at the end about not worrying about getting laughed at! I remember watching you in TV back in the day. Seeing you here on YouTube is awesome. Thanks for these videos. I’m trying to relearn poker.

  12. The ability of professional players to buy back in 17 times during a tourney is why they win so much, us average players just don't have that kinda capital.

  13. Hello Daniel, Great stuff! Mikkel Nashville here, I don't plan on being a superstar at this point I just want to get a little better to play online earn some extra money Thanks for all the tips I'm learning the percentage charts at this point and I kinda of lean toward your take on not bluffing that just can blow up in your face later on down the line and the respect level doesn't last long.

  14. He could’ve check raised the flop bet to see where he was at. Calling the C bet doesnt really give him a lot of information, but putting that pressure on your opponent can be key sometimes. And like Daniel said, you wont have a king most of the time, so a check raise not only defines his hand better, it tells him you’re aware that he’s just C betting to move you off of a hand you missed with the flop. And if the guy jams, you can comfortably fold most of the time since he’s probably putting you on KQ/KJ, which must mean he has that beat a good amount of the time

  15. Don't mean this to sound like a back-handed compliment, BUT… I am VERY (pleasantly) surprised by how well you articulate your analysis with a seemingly flawless delivery without the feel of being overly-scripted. Well done, all-round!

  16. "What am I gonna do if he goes all in?".
From Tommy Angelo's "Elements of Poker": "In a headsup pot, when you bet or raise, your opponent can only fold, call, or raise. If he folds, your next betting decision is not until the next hand. If he calls, your next betting decision is not until the next street. If he raises – and only if he raises – you must act now. That is why, when you bet or raise, there is strategically nothing to anticipate except a raise, and therefore, if you have not anticipated a raise, you not only made a mistake, you made the only mistake possible".

  17. Constant hate from one (D polk).
Toward someone (Dnegs) who isn't perfect, but is actually trying to help the little guy. Then the brainwash haters start hating too. It's like CNN and Trump.

  18. If he have an 8 in his range which he does alot suited conectors 98 87, he would raise his initial turn bet, cuz guy with A10 can think if he raises me here, he must have an 8 because if he calls i must just give up on river if i don't hit flush, and that will loose him action, so i think i he 3beted him on turn he could easly make that a10 laydown even with flush draw.

  19. I had just recently got into poker. I have been watching videos on YouTube. I must say your my favorite player. So glad you made a channel to help newbies like me progress in this amazing game.

  20. DAN THE MAN…I HATE WHEN ALL OF YOU PRO'S WROTE BOOKS AND HELP THE DINGLE BERRIES ON HOW TO PLAY…LET THEM FIGURE IT OUT….WHY TOO MANY EGOTISTIC A-HOLE S OUT THERE…FOR EXAMPLE RICH KID WHO INHERITED HIS MONEY….. A MAN DOES IT ON HIS OWN….

  21. WE USED TO PLAY 10 PEOPLE 50 CHIPS ALL EQUAL VALUE .$20 A MAN..YOU CAN SPLIT IT WITH SECOND PLACE DEPENDING ON HOW MANY CHIPS FIRST PLACE HAD ….IF FIRST PLACE HAD 450 CHIPS ,HE MIGHT OFFER 2ND PLACE BACK HIS $20 BACK. OR PLAY IT OUT…WE PLAYED FOR FUN…AND NO BUY IN….NO BUY IN STOPS THE RICH AGGRESSIVE GUY FROM CALLING ALLIN ALL THE TIME….FAST GAMES

  22. How are there dislikes on this video? DNegs you’re great and if I could pick a poker mentor it would definitely be you!

  23. Another thing to pick up from the hand is the instacall on the flop. That narrows his range quite a bit. The monsters and the thin call would usually be something you would be thinking about. So the BBs range has alot of sixes and eights, as well as sone Five sevens and some seven nines. When the 8 hit the turn i guess it would improve the BBs range about 20 percent of the time? So i guess the right play on the turn from the UTG is to bet and bet big. Big question is if called, do we fire another bullet on the river?

  24. I haven't always been the biggest fan of of Daniel Negreanu. Not that I disliked him I just thought he was over rated. My thinking was that anybody will win a lot of money playing tournaments if they play a lot of tournaments. And that he was making his real money with his sponsorships. I watch the other poker breakdowns poker guys and Doug Polk. And I think Daniel is the best out of the three. He's more engaging and entertaining and gives fresh insights. I'm rethinking the overrated thing.

  25. Can anybody explain to me what's meant with "a dunk bet" tnx for the help. Daniel great vids your helping me out big time. 👍
