Barcelona Regal welcome Dallas Mavericks to
Spain on Tuesday as part of the NBA side’s pre-season tour of Europe. Spanish champions, Barcelona, will pose a
tough test for the 2011 NBA victors and Barcelona centre, Ante Tomic, expects to teach the Mavs
a lesson or two. “It is a bit strange to play against an NBA
team this time of the season. But we are happy and want to share a good time with them. So
we can show them how we play and also to try to win.” The NBA is regarded as the highest level of
basketball in the world but the Euroleague is on the rise and Spain made USA work hard
in the Olympic final in London. Erazem Lorbeck is one of the best player’s
on the continent and the 28-year-old wants to prove that Barcelona can match one of the
best basketball sides on the planet. “It would be spectacular to win against Dallas.
It would surely give us a big push. But we have to be realistic. They have a great team.
We will see on Tuesday. We’ve had two defeats in our last two games and it is a delicate
moment. So we will try to get better and give everything we can.” The Mavs got into the mood for the match by
watching Barcelona v Real Madrid in the Nou Camp on Sunday. Barcelona’s basketball fans will provide a
similar atmosphere at Palau Blaugrana on Tuesday.
