We’re deconstructing Omaha high low hands
and I got a hand in front of me that if you peeked at this hand and if you were playing
regular Omaha, you would be ecstatic, your heart would be pounding most likely. Because
it’s what is considered the best or 2nd best in Omaha hand ace kings suited ace king suited
or also known as ace ace king king double suited. The problem in Omaha high low is we
have no way to make a low hand from the get go, no low from the get go with this hand.
To make a low you have to have 2 cards of different values that are both between the
numbers of 8 and ace, we don’t have that here. We can only take the high. What do you do
with this hand? I say see the flop and if 2 high cards come out on the flop you’re in
good shape. If 3 high cards come out on the flop then you know you are very likely going
to scoop the pot. If 3 low cards come out on the flop put on the brakes.
