How to Play Spit in the Ocean Poker : What Kind of Hand Not to Showdown in Spit in the Ocean Poker

We talked about hands that were good to Showdown
in the poker variant Spit in the Ocean. Let’s talk about hands that are not good to Showdown.
You almost always want to give these up. That would be any pair. So, this is your hand,
2, 3, 5, 7. This wild card, the Jack, gives you a pair of sevens. You’re not going to
win a pot with that. Or, a low three of a kind (3, 3, 5, 7). Three 3’s. You’re very
likely not going to win a pot with that. And then the lowest straight (Ace, 2, 3, 4) Ace,
2, 3, 4, 5. Well, you lose to any other straight and you’re very likely up against a flush,
up against a full house. So, if this is what you have at the end of the hand and there’s
a lot of betting and re-raising, then it’s time to fold. Throw that hand away.
